A RECENT Ofsted inspection has found Great Orton Primary School to be 'good' in every area.
The staff and governors said they are 'extremely pleased' with the outcome which recognised the 'significant progress' made by the staff and leadership since their last inspection.
Mr Matt Walker, headteacher, who was appointed in September 2022, said he was "pleased that the inspection appreciated the hard work and commitment of the staff especially during the pandemic and felt that this had contributed to moving the school forward."
The school has been praised by Ofsted for their 'family friendly atmosphere' and the 'calm, purposeful approach the children have towards their learning.'
Mr Walker was accredited with reinvigorating the curriculum which was described as a 'well designed and well taught curriculum where the leaders and teachers are ambitious for all pupils.'
In the report Ofsted also acknowledged that pupils are proud to be a part of this school family and that they are polite, friendly and respectful who take pride in their work.
The inspectors thought that the teachers have good subject knowledge and are skilled in providing support to meet the needs of all learners particularly those with SEND.
Ofsted recognised also that Governors know the school well and provide challenge and support for the school leaders.
Mr Walker said he was 'extremely proud of the good education the children receive at Great Orton School and feels that staff can really get to know the children well with small class sizes'.
The full report will be published in the coming days.
