A Workington man has appeared in court accused of historic rape and indecent assault offences.
Paul Clark, 48, of no fixed abode, did not enter pleas to the following charges when he appeared at Workington Magistrates’ Court:
- Indecent assault on a girl under the age of 16
- Rape a female under 16
- Indecent assault on a girl under the age of 16
These offences are alleged to have taken place in Workington, between January 11, 1992 and January 10, 1995.
Clark is also accused of:
- Indecent assault on a girl under the age of 14, between January 11, 1992 and January 10, 1993 in Workington
- Indecent assault on a girl under the age of 14, between January 11, 1993 and January 10, 1994 in Workington
The following offence is alleged to have taken place between January 1, 1991 and December 31, 1991 in Workington:
- Rape a female aged 16 or over
Clark will appear at Carlisle Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on March 7.
He was granted bail, on the condition that he does not have any contact with two named females, or have any unsupervised contact with any child under 16, other than inadvertent contact in daily life.
