WE shared the news that Home Bargains opened its second Carlisle branch on Saturday (February 11), with this one being the first with customer parking, located in Kingstown.

The 20,538 sq. ft store offers products including homewares, health and beauty essentials, sweets, snacks and drinks, as well as fresh and frozen food.

Here's how our readers reacted to the news.

Christine Woodward said: "Knew it would be busy on the first day, but the car park is totally inadequate. No through routes for your trolley so ended up walking right round the car park, not easy with the amount of cars trying to park. Think I’ll stick to Lockerbie."

Pauline Robinson also said: "I just go to the one at Lockerbie."

Alison Jane said: "Just had a trip there. Packed out," while Catherine Thomson said: "Was there at 8am. Not as good as the Penrith one. There was a few things we couldn’t get that are in other stores. No queues either."

Lee Hayton said: "We need something on the Morton side. Instead of the north of Carlisle."

Vickie Tatum added: "Nipped up before for some packed lunch bits, wasn't overly impressed, thought there would be more choice like the Penrith one, but all in all it was OK."

Wendy E. Lovering added: "Bring back HomeBase," and Andrea Pearson said: "It was horrendous getting in and out."

Keith Cross Winds Cartwright said: "Built the stores up there but failed to ensure adequate infrastructure."
