A PENSIONER from Carlisle has denied two allegations of assaulting his partner.
Ian Greenfield, 66, of Green Lane, Belle Vue, entered his not guilty pleas during a brief appearance before magistrates at Carlisle’s Rickergate court.
The allegations he faces are:
* That on January 2 last year, in Carlisle, he assaulted the woman – his partner for eight years, causing her actual bodily harm.
* And that on August 1 last year, at Southerness, Scotland, he again assaulted the same woman and caused her actual bodily harm.
Magistrates declined jurisdiction in the case and transferred it to Carlisle Crown Court for a hearing on March 13. They granted Greenfield, who was legally represented, bail on condition that he has no contact with the alleged victim.
