FIRE crews were called out in the early hours of this morning to a major fire in a Maryport street which has been labelled 'devastating'.

Firefighters were sent out to reports of a fire at The Bakehouse on Senhouse Street at 2.47am.

At the height of the incident, 10 fire engines and several specialist vehicles from CFRS attended the scene working alongside Cumbria Police, North West Ambulance Service, local authority and United Utilities.

There are no reported casualties and the cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
