Legendary Philadelphia soul group, The Stylistics, are set to come to the Sands Centre in Carlisle in the Autumn.
Tickets are set to go on sale this week for the group’s ‘Greatest Hits’ tour which is set to arrive in Carlisle on November 30.
The Stylistics are to tour with Airrion Love and Herb Murrell from the original line up with Barrington ‘Bo’ Henderson and Jason Sharp also joining the group.
The Stylistics have promised to share ‘magic moments’ to the Carlisle crowd from some of their greatest hits with include ‘I’m Stone in Love With You’ and their UK No.1 single ‘I Can’t Give You Anything (But My Love)’.
Founded in the late 1960s, the group went on to become one of the most successful soul groups of the 1970s and continue to impress audiences to this day with the group currently on a sell-out tour of the US.
The band’s biggest hits were all best known for the iconic vocals of founder member Russell Thompkins Jr who left the group in 2020.
The Stylistics have under their belt: seven Gold albums, five Gold singles, two Double Gold singles, eight Platinum albums, one Double Platinum album, four Platinum singles, along with a Grammy nomination in 1974 for ‘You Make Me Feel Brand New’ and a plaque on the Walk Of Fame in 1994, in Center City, Philadelphia.
In May 2004, they were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame.
The Stylistics are just some of the big names in the world of entertainment who are coming to Carlisle in the coming year.
Controversial comic Frankie Boyle is set to top the bill at the Sands Centre in April, with other comics coming to the city including Dara O’Briain, and Ross Noble.
Other music stars that are coming to Carlisle include Roachford, Martin Kemp, Bez from the Happy Mondays and Snake Davies.

Tickets will be available to buy to see The Stylistics from Friday, February 24.
