A POPULAR Cockermouth restaurant will reopen tomorrow under new management, after a period of closure in the town.

Frederick's Lounge Bar and Restaurant will re-open with a new food menu and under new management on Cockermouth's Station Street.

In a statement, the new owners said: "We are thrilled to announce that Fredericks is reopening tomorrow at 5pm under new management.

"We have an exciting new menu to share with you, it’s literally being printed as we speak.

"As soon as we have it we’ll share it with you. Don’t worry, you’ll still find lots of your favourites on there.

"Contact us directly to make a reservation. Please note that we can accept cash only until we have everything set up and in place.

"We look forward to welcoming you soon."

The restaurant closed unexpectedly last month, with mystery surrounding the popular venues closure, after a sign was displayed on the door stating 'closed until further notice'.

Western Lake District Hotels Ltd, which own both Fredericks Bar Lounge & Restaurant in Cockermouth and the prominent Hunday Manor Hotel in Windscales, has placed a notice in the first gazette on Companies House that it will be dissolved in two months.

However, the new management have said that they are looking forward to welcoming customers back into the venue this weekend.

Unfortunately, they said, they are not able to accept vouchers from the previous owners.

In a statement the new owner said: "Unfortunately we are unable to accept any gift vouchers issued by the previous management team.

"If anyone has any queries relating to this please direct all enquiries to Holly Wood at Armstrong Watson on 01228 690200."
