A DRINK-DRIVER who was more than twice the limit has been banned from getting behind the wheel for 19 months.
Christopher Buchanan, 34, was driving a silver BMW on Hinnings Road in Distington on February 5.
A breath test revealed he had 75mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg.
The defendant, of Hinnings Road, Distington, pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle with alcohol level above the limit.
Magistrates sitting in Workington banned Buchanan from driving for 19 months, to be reduced by 19 weeks, if he completes the drink-drivers’ rehabilitation course.
He was fined £120 and must pay £85 costs and a £48 surcharge.
