A MAN has been fined over £500 for assaulting a police officer.
James Worthington, 61, pleaded guilty to common assault of an emergency worker when he appeared at Workington Magistrates’ Court.
Worthington, of Bankside, Distington, assaulted the police officer in Workington on February 13.
Magistrates said the offence was aggravated due to the assault being on an emergency worker.
He was fined £511 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £204 surcharge.
