TWO women will be walking over burning hot coals to raise money for charity and are urging others to join them.
Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland fundraisers Sam Davis and her colleague Amy Johnston will be walking doing a fire walk at Carlisle Cricket Club on Friday March 24.
The hospice teamed up with Fire Walk Scotland to help celebrate the hospices 25th anniversary.
The pair are hoping to raise money for the hospice but also in memory of family members.
“Think about it, if you can walk bare foot across red hot coals, what else could you do if you put your mind to it?," Sam said.
"I have previously done a Fire Walk and I am looking forward to undertaking another one to help raise money for the charity in memory of my Dad.
"Hospice at Home deliver such a crucial service to local people enabling more choice for end of life care and what could be more important?
"If you want to mentally challenge yourself this is a fantastically fun way of doing that."
Amy adds: "The charity is close to my heart as they cared for my grandad in his own home before he gained his angel wings.
"They are such a great charity who help patients and support loved ones and family members in the comfort of their own homes."
Before the event, there is a 90-minute workshop inside the Cricket Pavilion, where the Fire Walk Scotland team will prepare participants both physically and mentally before the challenge.
The event will start after 5:45pm.
Registration for the event is £30 per person but Hospice at Home are encouraging supporters to raise £125 per person in sponsorship money.
Teams of four signing-up will be offered a special price of £100, a £20 saving by adding ‘teamfire’ to the coupon section at checkout on the website.
The minimum age for this event is 18 years old.
