THE finishing touches are being made to a luxury new £4million cinema due to open in west Cumbria next week.
Parkway Cinemas will open the doors to its fully-refurbished cinema at Dunmail Park in Workington on Friday, March 17 - and tickets are now on sale for the opening weekend.
The cinema has undergone a full £4million-plus ‘back-to-brick’ refurbishment, which features luxury leather recliners throughout, six-screens, 4K laser projection and 3D, Dolby surround sound.
Dedicated private hire areas for kids’ parties, private family events and full conference facilities are also available, alongside a new food and drink offer with cocktails in the evenings and brunch during the day.
Richard Parkes, director of Parkway Cinemas, said: “It’s taken a long time to get to this point. We are delighted to finally be able to put tickets on sale for the opening weekend.
“The cinema looks absolutely brilliant. We are delighted with it. The screens are up, the lighting is working and everything is coming together.
“We are doing the finishing touches. The big night will be Friday and we’ll be fully open for business then.”
