CARLISLE United midfield star Callum Guy has committed to the Blues after signing a new long-term deal.

The midfielder has agreed to extend his stay at the club until at least the summer of 2025.

The new two-year deal for the 26-year-old contains an option that can be activated.

He becomes the second player this week to put pen to paper for the Blues after defender Jack Armer signed a new three-year deal.

He initially penned an 18-month deal with the Blues during the January 2020 transfer window.

A triggered clause secured his services for a further 12 months at the end of the 20/21 season before he agreed a new contract in September 2021, which took him to the end of the current campaign.

He has made a total of 127 appearances and scored three goals for the Cumbrians to date.

Reacting to the news on the club's website Paul Simpson said: "Callum loves it here and his performances this season have been outstanding, so he thoroughly deserves this extension.

"I’m pleased we’ve got them both done. Jack is still very young, and Callum is a good age with a lot of experience and games under his belt now.

"Hopefully he will keep performing to the levels we’ve seen from him this season.”
