BRAMPTON's Shoulder of Mutton pub to close due 'rising costs and personal reasons.'
The popular village pub closed its doors on Saturday, March 18.
The announcement of the closure was made by landlady Vikki Gordon, who has worked in Brampton pubs for around 20 years, on social media on Friday, March 10.
She said: "It is with great sadness that I will announce that I will be leaving the shoulder
"Due to rising costs and personal reasons, I’ve decided the time is right.
"This has been by far one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made and has not been an "easy decision by any means, a real battle of head and heart
Vikki also quashed any rumours surrounding the pub's imminent closure and sincerely thanked everyone who has supported her and the business.
She said: "I’m sure there will be a million different stories to add to this, wouldn’t be Brampton otherwise but the facts are above with no other reasons behind my decision.
"I have loved every single minute in the shoulder and all of us here are deeply saddened by the decision but as always fully supportive.
"We aren’t just work colleagues we are family, best friends, and this journey would not have been the same without any of them.
"I love everyone single one of them deeply.
"Our staff are the best I have ever worked with.
"We are all a big family and the locals are the best any pub has, it’s not just a pub but a safe zone."
