JOHN Stevenson, MP for Carlisle, has voiced his 'pride' in Carlisle this English Tourism Week.
Taking place from Friday, March 17 until March 26, English Tourism Week is an annual celebration of the tourism industry, highlighting its economic importance to local economies.
It provides a 'spotlight for the amazing work' that goes on each and every day to build strong and resilient destinations.
Mr Stevenson said: “We are spoilt for choice with so many wonderful tourist attractions and places of interest in Carlisle and the wider area.

"It was a pleasure to show Lord Parkinson, Minister for Arts and Culture at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport just some of those places earlier this year.
"In addition, it is fantastic to see so many popular and well organised events in places like the Sands Centre, Tullie, and the Old Fire Station and in our city centre, like the Teenage Market which takes place next weekend.
"Carlisle is more than an obvious destination of choice to visit this English Tourism Week."
