A new summer timetable has been announced by a bus company working in Cumbria.
Stagecoach’s new ‘Summer Lakes by Bus’ guide for this year comes into force on Monday, March 27.
It covers routes within the Lake District National Park and those that link with the region.
Stagecoach said the revised timetables, which enable passengers to hop on and off to explore at their leisure, have been carefully developed to ensure reliability.
The company’s investment into its services will also see new low-emission buses for the 555 service between Keswick and Lancaster launching next month.
These new buses will feature cleaner engines, which Stagecoach said helps cut carbon emissions, as well as wireless charging and table seating.
The number six service between Barrow and Windermere continues to run in 2023, enabling visitors to hop off for a stroll around Fell Foot Park near Newby Bridge.
The bus stop is right at the entrance, so there will be no parking charges.
Rob Jones, managing director of Stagecoach Cumbria and North Lancashire, said: “As the cost of living crisis continues, staycations are expected to be extremely popular this summer, we also look forward to meeting all the first-time visitors.
“Getting around the Lake District by bus is easy and relaxing.
“Take a break from driving and explore the tranquil waters and outstanding scenery of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.”
The Stagecoach Cumbria and North Lancashire Summer 2023 timetable will remain in force until Sunday, November 5, 2023.
