A HOMELESS Carlisle man has been jailed after he was admitted flouting a domestic violence protection order – by visiting a house he is banned from.
Nathan Foster, 31, was given the order by magistrates on March 3. But on March 17, before the 28-day order had expired, he defied it by going to a property in Burnett Road, Carlisle, where he had contact with a male he is banned from seeing.
After hearing the facts, magistrates jailed the defendant, whose address was given as the city's John Street Hostel, Carlisle, for 14 days.
Magistrates said they regarded the offence as serious enough to warrant custody because it was second time Foster had breached the same order. The defendant was represented by defence lawyer Mark Shepherd.
