POLICE are appealing for a witness as part of an investigation into a racially aggravated public order offence.
The incident occurred outside a takeaway shop on Duke Street, Whitehaven, at around 2am on February 11.
A spokesperson from Cumbria Constabulary said: "Officers are looking to speak to a potential male who witnessed a woman receiving racially aggravated verbal abuse from another male.
"Anyone with information relating to this incident can report online at www.cumbria.police.uk/reportit , quoting incident number 29 of 11 February 2023. You can also phone on 101.
"Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111," they said.
