A fire station in Cumbria has paid tribute to a member of staff who has retired after 34 years of work.
Carlisle East Fire Station said goodbye to Joan Welsh, who worked for 34 years for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service in the business support department.
A spokesperson from Carlisle East Fire Station said yesterday (March 29): “Family, friends, former and present colleagues of Joan gathered in Carlisle East this afternoon to wish her all the best for her retirement.
“She will be a massive miss to the service and has been described as irreplaceable by all that have worked alongside her.
“All the best for the future Joan.”
