A SCHOOL in Harraby has received a ‘good’ Ofsted report after making a ‘number of improvements’ since its last inspection.

Inglewood Community Nursery Infant School was inspected during January and the inspectors rated the school ‘good’ in all areas.

This was the first full inspection since January 2019, when the school was found to be ‘requires improvement’.

“I am very proud of the children, staff and our whole school community. It is nice that all of our hard work and effort has been recognised by Ofsted,” said headteacher, Deborah Boekestein.

“We all work really hard to ensure our children are well-supported, happy and safe and that they are all making great progress in their learning, whatever their starting points are.

“I know, and have always known, that Inglewood Community Nursery and Infants is a fantastic school and that we offer a great start to all of our children.

“We are as excited as ever about the children's learning, and the opportunities that await us all.

“We can't wait for whatever is next and are proud to be at the heart of the Harraby community.”

The report praised the teaching staff, management and the school community in their report about their visit.

The report said: “Since the last inspection, leaders have made a number of improvements to the quality of education that pupils receive.

“Pupils are happy, safe and secure in school. There is always a warm welcome from staff at the start of the day. Children in the nursery class cannot wait to find their favourite toys to play with each day.

“Leaders’ expectations for pupils’ achievement are high. Pupils work hard and try their best. They know that they can ask for help if they do not understand something. Pupils are proud of their work. They achieve well, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).”

The school also has 'Ali's out of school club' which was rated good by Ofsted last year.

Schools are normally fully inspected every four years by Ofsted and can either be rated ‘inadequate’, ‘requires improvement’, ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’.
