A WHITEHAVEN man is facing a Carlisle Crown Court trial over an allegation that he subjected a woman to 'coercive and controlling behaviour.'
Kieron Floume, 25, formally entered a not guilty plea to the charge when he appeared briefly before a judge.
The allegation states that he committed the offence between December 31, 2019, and October 20, 2022.
Prosecutors say the controlling behaviour included criticising the woman’s clothing, her driving, and her spending choices; stopping her communicating with certain people, monitoring her movements using CCTV and constantly phoning her to check who she was with.
The defendant, of High Road, Whitehaven, will go on trial on October 22. The case is expected to last three or four days.
He was granted bail with conditions, including not to contact the alleged victim.
