This week a school in west Cumbria held a fundraiser in support of Comic Relief.
The Cumbria Academy for Autism in Workington held the event for their pupils this week and managed to raise over £300 for the Comic Relief charity.
Teachers, pupils and their parents all got involved in the fundraising efforts and a great day was had by all.
Sian Latham, a teacher at the school that helps to organise the charity events, said: "Staff and students worked incredibly hard to raise a total of £380 for Comic Relief.
"We held a family fun afternoon which included raffles, soak the teacher, cake sales, games, face painting, and lots more.
"Staff and students also completed the CAA cycle of 144 miles as this number is part of the school postcode.
"Students and staff worked hard to reach the total number of miles during the school day. We would like to thank Eddie Shimmings, Tri Lakeland, Gray face painting & Arts and Martiney's Magic for supporting the event. Charity work supports our students in understanding the importance of helping others and provides a sense of unity through working together."
