WE asked News & Star readers for their nominations for the best hair stylists and barbers in Carlisle, and after combing through the hundreds of responses, we managed to trim it down to a list of the very best.
Here is what our readers said and who they nominated.
Not long after we asked the question on our Facebook page, Becky Rawlings suggested three of her favourite hairdressers.
She said: "I nominate - Stuart at Mungo Jaxx, Jordan from Angel and Tracey from what used to be Studio 11."
Jacqueline Rawlings agreed with Becky and believes Jordan from Angel on Scotland Road is also a winner to her.
Quick to also nominate a business, Katrine Eagleson said: "I think the best hairdresser is Angela Hunt, who has been my hairdresser for over 20 years and has never let me down. I always feel like a special and valued customer."
Elaine Logan and Samantha Hodgson agreed that Glamour Beauty Salon on Broad Street was the one for them.
The pair both said it has fantastic staff and is a beautiful salon.
Believeing that the importance of a good business is making a customer feel more like a friend than a customer, Lisa Bell and June Steventon nominated Chique Hair & Beauty on Newton Road in Carlisle which has been open for more than years.
Lisa said: "I think Chique Hair & Beauty's Kate Armstrong as all the staff make me feel like a friend. I always come out feeling amazing."
Showing appreciation for a new salon, Cath Dixon said: "KB Hair... Kevin is an amazing hairdresser, and his new salon is fabulous."
Agreeing, Anne Moore said: "KB Hair, Kevin Boyle is a brilliant hairdresser and his salon is quiet and relaxing."
Always a part of the family, Marie Huscroft nominated a business that she has used for every family event.
She said: "Lisa Wheatley been my hairdresser for around 15 years through all sorts of cuts, colours, weddings, hen dos, pregnancy, big birthdays... love her."
Other nominations included Hair Envy, Craft Hair & Beauty, Vescc and Hair Room by Ashley.
Concluding the nominations, Janice Grieves could not choose. "The area is full of fantastic hairdressers and barbers," she said.
