A YOUNG driver who took police on a 100mph chase and went the wrong way on a roundabout has been remanded in custody.
Ben Robinson, 20, pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle dangerously, failing to provide specimen for analysis, driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence and using a motor vehicle on a road without insurance.
Outlining the case, prosecutor Lee Dacre told Workington Magistrates’ Court that it was a police pursuit which reached speeds of 100mph.

The defendant drove a BMW dangerously on Cleator Main Street, the A5086 and the A66 towards Workington, and went the wrong way around a roundabout, on April 1.
Robinson, of Gray Street, Workington, will be sentenced at Carlisle Crown Court on May 1.
Jeff Forster, lead magistrate, told Robinson that he would be remanded in custody until that date.
