A 21-year-old has been arrested following a crash on the M6 earlier today.
The man from Peterborough was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
As a result of the crash, a 40-year-old man was taken to Preston Hospital by the air ambulance service with serious injuries.
The incident took place at around 7am (April,6) on the M6 southbound between J38 and J37.
A spokesperson from Cumbria Constabulary said: "The collision involved a white Citroen Dispatch.
"A 21-year-old man from Peterborough was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
"He suffered minor injuries and was taken to Royal Lancaster Infirmary.
"A 40-year-old man was taken to Preston Hospital by Air Ambulance with serious injuries.

A spokesperson from the Great North Air Ambulance said: "Our critical care team were activated at 7.53am to reports of a road traffic collision on the M6 near Kendal.
"We had a doctor and two paramedics on board and they arrived on scene at 8.13am.
"Our team assessed and treated a patient before airlifting them to hospital," they said.
