KENDAL Calling has announced its Thursday line-up and top of the billing is hitmaker Nile Rodgers with his legendary band CHIC.

Nile Rodgers is a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee and multiple Grammy Award-winning songwriter, composer, producer, arranger, and guitarist.

As the co-founder of CHIC, Rodgers generated chart-topping hits like "Le Freak”, the biggest-selling single in the history of Atlantic Records, and sparked the advent of hip-hop with "Good Times."

His work in the CHIC Organization including “We Are Family” with Sister Sledge and “I’m Coming Out” with Diana Ross and his productions for artists like David Bowie (“Let’s Dance”), Madonna (“Like A Virgin”) and Duran Duran (“The Reflex”) have sold over 500 million albums and 100 million singles worldwide.

He has continued to maintain his popularity into the last decade with collaborations with Daft Punk, Daddy Yankee and Beyoncé creating a second wave of contemporary hits.

Also playing for the Thursday line-up are Scouting for Girls, Black Honey, Gengahr, and Rose Grey.

And Kendal Calling will see its very own edition of Rock ‘n Roll Bingo, the UK’s #1 pub music bingo game and a whole new twist on bingo, replacing the standard bingo format with much-loved music clips.

The news follows Kendal Calling’s 2023 line-up announcement which revealed headliners Kasabian, Royal Blood, Blossoms and Nile Rodgers & CHIC as this summer’s headliners, along with a wealth of other incredible artists including Kaiser Chiefs, Rick Astley, The Lathums, Example, Frank Turner, Confidence Man, Circa Waves, Beabadoobee, Happy Mondays, Melanie C, The Enemy and more.

The festival is from July 27-30 2023 at the Lowther Estate with Thursday tickets starting at £35 per person.
