A Cumbrian car dealership has received national accreditation for providing ‘the highest levels of service and knowledge’ for electric vehicles.

Carlisle Audi is one of several Audi dealerships that received the accreditation nationally from the National Franchised Dealers Association’s (NFDA) EVA Accreditation scheme.

The scheme aims to offer businesses official certification to say they are trusted when it comes to providing high levels of service and knowledge regarding electric vehicles, something Carlisle Audi said is needed as the sale of new petrol and diesel vehicles will end in 2030, leaving those who are already considering the switch to electric vehicles may be unsure of their purchase.

Swansway Motor Group, which owns the dealership, said they saw a 33 per cent increase in sales of electric vehicles in 2022 compared to 2021.

They said this growth in sales was also reflected in recent figures from AutoTrader, and demand for electric vehicles in the first four weeks of 2023 has seen an average increase of 44 per cent when compared to 2022.
