A Cumbrian location has ranked amongst the top places in the UK to see cherry blossom trees.

Sizergh Castle in Cumbria has ranked among the top places to visit for seeing cherry blossoms.

A spokesperson said: "Spring is here and nature lovers will be heading outside to find the perfect walk to detox, relax and soak up some vitamin D.

"It’s also an opportunity to spot an eruption of pink-like confetti flowers in the form of blossoms lining our streets and parks - with Cumbria a particular favourite.

"Researchers at Sun Bingo have created a ‘Blossom Hotspot’ index, scoring individual locations mapped around the UK out of 10, having retrieved data based on the number of Google searches, size of park and time it would take to walk the park; officially ranking where to see the UK’s prettiest blossoms - of which Sizergh Castle in Cumbria ranks 9th top blossom hotspot with 3.5 points out of a possible 10 available."
