An outdoor activities charity has appointed a new chair.
The Lake District Calvert Trust, based in Keswick, has appointed Martin Mullin as its new chair of trustees.
Martin takes over the role from Giles Mounsey-Heysham, who has served as chair of trustees since 2013.
Martin’s experience encompasses strategic planning, operations, financial performance management, relationship management and business development.
Commenting on his appointment, Martin, who has been a trustee of the Lake District Calvert Trust since 2016, said: “The Lake District Calvert Trust owes a debt of gratitude to Giles who has been an outstanding chair.
“I am looking forward to working with our trustees, management team and staff to build on his inspirational work.”
Giles welcomed Martin to the role, and commented on his time as chair: “There have been so many highlights.
“Go Herdwick was an amazing project, working with sponsors and local artists to create a trail of life-sized model ewes and lambs scattered across 150 square miles of Cumbria towns and countryside.
“It was also a huge achievement to open our brain injury rehabilitation centre, Reconnections.
“The Covid pandemic was undoubtedly our most challenging period but at the same time it showed our people and our benefactors at their very best.”
