WHITEHAVEN RLFC have suffered an injury blow as they confirm that full-back Sam Freeman will be ruled out for the rest of the season.
In a statement, the club confirmed the news.
They said: "Whitehaven Rugby League can today confirm that Sam Freeman will miss the rest of the 2023 season.
"Sam had to leave the field in our Good Friday victory against Barrow and scans have since confirmed that the injury is a reoccurrence of the ACL injury that kept him sidelined before signing for the club.
"All at the club wish Sam a speedy recovery."
The 23-year-old was forced off the pitch on Good Friday when Whitehaven took on Barrow Raiders in the Cumbrian derby with a knee problem, with the extent of the injury now fully confirmed.
Freeman has suffered a string of previous problems after picking up his first knee injury in 2021 whilst playing for the Rochdale Hornets.
