CLEATOR Women's Institiute celebrate the coronation at their monthly meeting by supporting local businesses and charities.
Cleator WI members gathered at Wath Brow Hornets Club for their monthly meeting held on the second Tuesday of the month at 1.00pm .
President Mary Taylor welcomed members and visitors and Jerusalem was sung.
The group then tucked into their prepared Afternoon Tea to celebrate King Charles' coronation. Group member, Violet Kennett said: "Everyone enjoyed the food and our speaker, Helen Shipton-Smith brought some beautiful plants from her nursery and showed everyone the best way to plant baskets and take care of them. We then purchased some of her plants."
"It has been a strange couple of years with lockdown and COVID but once we were allowed to meet again we tried to carry on as usual."
Last year, the group raised £420 for Air Ambulance. A young man who had been rescued by them 10 years before accepted the cheque on their behalf. This year, the group again raised £259.66 for RNLI.
Violet said: "Gradually things are coming back to normal. Stay safe everyone."
