Mountain rescuers from Cumbria took part in a training session in Skye this month.
Team members from Cockermouth MRT, Langdale Ambleside MRT, and Keswick MRT went to the Misty Isle for joint team training on some of the UK’s harshest mountain conditions.
A spokesperson from Keswick MRT said: “For much of the week, that’s exactly what it was (misty).
“This only added to the atmosphere as we ascended the formidable Pinnacle Ridge, and on the following day an airy traverse of the Cuillen from Sgurr a’ Mhadaidh to Sgurr na Banachdich.
“Our luck ran out as we next targeted, and retreated from, The Inaccessible Pinnacle, which would have been a thoroughly miserable experience in the wind and rain.
“However, the weather came good and a trip was made up the amazing Dubh Slabs above Loch Coruisk, and on the final day, a climb onto the famous Cioch.
“A great week of joint training, exchanging ideas, and working on our mountaineering skills in a different environment.”
