A celebrity meet and greet with a difference has been planned at a pub near Carlisle.

An opportunity to meet Jenny the blind cat and her owner has been planned at the Drovers Rest in Monkhill following her appearances at the pub’s ‘furball Friday events.

According to her owners, being blind certainly doesn't stop Jenny from doing things that other cats do such as hunting birds, chasing insects and climbing trees and even things that most regular cats don’t do such as exploring the woods and going for walks.

“Jenny loves nothing better than going for a walk on her harness and lead around our garden, neighbourhood and the local woods at Fingland, she’s become quite the local celebrity” said Lucy.

“The Drovers Rest at Monkhill launched a furball Friday event and have always claimed to be pet friendly but really furball Friday was more for dogs than any other animals.

“Beki who manages the Drovers was fantastic and said that we could of course bring Jenny along to the pub and so we set about a slow introduction for her, first visiting on a day they were closed to see how she got on, then on a couple of quiet days when there were other people around and even a couple of dogs too.

“We have now decided that adventure cats should be celebrated with their own event and so Beki came up with the idea of 'Monkhill Moggies’.

Monkhill Moggies launches at 6pm on Monday, May 22 with a meet and greet with Jenny, who has over 6,000 followers over Instagram and Facebook, whilst also raising money for the charity that helped re-home Jenny, World Animal Friends.
