TWO men have appeared in court charged with manslaughter.
Robert Morgan, 60, and David Holyoak, 52, are accused of unlawfully killing Dorothy Morgan in Whitehaven on February 3, 2021.
The defendants, both of Calder Avenue, Whitehaven, did not enter pleas when they appeared at Workington Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Pamela Fee, prosecuting, said it was a case that needed to be sent straight to the crown court.
A plea and trial preparation hearing will be held at Carlisle Crown Court on June 19.
Morgan and Holyoak, who were represented by defence solicitor Liam Kotrie during the brief hearing, were granted unconditional bail.
