DRIVERS in and around Allerdale will have a National Highways road closure to watch out for this week.

But the news isn't too bad, as it is only expected to cause slight delays of less than ten minutes.

Works are set to take place from today, May 22 and on the A66 with traffic signals and a lane closure in place whilst National Highway workers inspect the bridge in the area.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure is due to start this week:

• A66, from 9am May, 22 to 4pm May, 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 eastbound and westbound, Keswick to Dubwath, traffic signals and Lane closure for bridge inspection.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
