A DETECTIVE who has gone above and beyond in her work supporting and safeguarding survivors of domestic abuse, has been commended by the chief constable.
Detective constable Sarah Edgar was put forward for the commendation by her Victim Support Cumbria colleagues in recognition of her passion and dedication in her roles as a police officer, DA Matters trainer and as domestic homicide review lead.
Sarah Place, operations manager of Victim Support Cumbria Multi Crime & Specialist Services put Det Con Edgar forward for the commendation.

Sarah said: "Detective constable Edgar works tirelessly and passionately alongside us to improve response and outcomes for victims.
"She deserves this recognition for her outstanding efforts and for the support she has provided ourselves and victims.
"Sarah is an asset to the policing team and Cumbria generally and is someone we can always turn to whenever we encounter a problem.
"She is a pleasure to work with."
