NEW food hygiene ratings have been awarded to seven establishments in the Cumberland council area, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.
Most were rated the full five out of five, except for two, which were rated four and one respectively.
Rated five were:
- Millom Community Church on Salthouse Road, rated on May 14
- Energy Coast University Technical Co on Blackwood Road, Lillyhall Industrial Estate, Workington, rated on May 11
- Borrowdale School, rated on May 4
- Wetherspoons at The Chief Justice of The Common Pleas 2-6 Bank Street, Keswick, rated on May 22
- The Old Posting House in Cockermouth, rated on May 11.
Rated four was The Pearl Garden on Wood Street, Maryport, rated on May 4.
Rated one out of five was Moranos Express on Petteril Bank Road, Carlisle, rated on April 18.
At Moranos, according to the FSA, hygienic food handling was generally satisfactory.
But cleanliness and condition of facilities and building was rated improvement necessary, and there is 'major improvement necessary' in the management of food safety category.
