POLICE have confirmed a 14-year-old boy who was airlifted to hospital following a fatal incident at the River Eden is now in a 'critical but stable condition'.
The teenager had been in critical condition in hospital ever since four teenage boys had got into difficulty in the River Eden near Rosehill, Carlisle, on Friday evening (May, 26).
Tragically, the body of 15-year-old Lewis Michael Kirkpatrick was discovered on Saturday afternoon (May,27).
Outpourings of tributes have been left by Carlisle residents ever since Lewis' tragic passing.
Carlisle United football fans held a minute of applause to pay tribute to the teen during Sunday's League Two play-off final at Wembley.
