A school in Cumbria was forced to close on Monday after 'severe' flooding caused 'extensive' damage over the weekend.
The stormy weather on Sunday was clearly felt by St Patrick's Catholic School in Cleator Moor, as conditions meant that it was unsafe for students to attend on Monday, June 26.
The primary school completed structural and electrical building safety checks on Monday after a number of ceiling tiles came loose and classrooms and corridors were left flooded.
Parents and members of the public were quick to offer their support in cleaning up on social media but the school was able to complete all the necessary remedial and safety checks today, meaning that the school will be reopened as usual tomorrow.
