There was Cumbrian success in the latest event in the Scottish Rally Championship.
Allan Cathers, from Brampton, and Rory Young claimed victory in the Argyll Rally.
It was a first ever KNC Groundworks Scottish Rally Championship victory for the duo.
The Citroen crew came out on top of the Scottish Rally contenders by a 27-second margin after a day and a half of action at Dunoon.
Young, from Dumfriesshire, and Cumbrian Cathers inherited the lead after David Henderson and Chris Lees retired on the Saturday morning.
They were then involved in a battle with Mark McCulloch and Michael Hendry’s Proton Satria Evo.
Young and Cathers ultimately extended their lead to 27 seconds by the finish, earning them third place overall and first in the Scottish Championship race.
Both Young and Cathers are members of Spadeadam Motor Club in Brampton and have been competing together for 17 years.
Cathers himself has been racing for about 45 years and is approaching 50 years as a Spadeadam member.
On their efforts at Dunoon, Cathers added: “We were pushing for second overall and got to within three seconds when we got caught up in an overtightened chicane about two miles from the end of the last stage which cost us about ten seconds.
“The Citroen DS3 is a really good tarmac car and handles the bumps and technicality of the Cowell Peninsula roads with ease.”
Their victory in the Argyll Rally followed a third-placed Scottish Championship finish in the previous Jim Clark Reivers Rally.
The RSAC Scottish Rally on the gravel in Moffat is next on the calendar on July 22.
