TWO men have been arrested after a police pursuit through two Cumbrian villages, which resulted in a car being driven through a hedge.

Cumbria Police said that a vehicle failed to stop for officers at around 2.15pm yesterday, June 28.

Officers then pursued the vehicle through Cumwhinton and Wetheral before the driver 'lost control' of the vehicle and the car went through a hedge in Penrith.

Two men from Sunderland, one aged 51 and one aged 33, were arrested for multiple offences including theft and have since been released on bail.

In a statement on social media, Cumbria Roads Police and ARVs wrote: "For the people of Cumwhinton and Wetheral.

"Two arrested for driving offences/thefts (in Penrith) after failing to stop and taking 35A on a tour of both villages before the driver lost what little talent he had and put the car through this poor hedge."
