Cumbria is no different and there is a whole selection of chocolate shops across our part of the county for sweet lovers to indulge in.

Castle Chocolates- Carlisle

Located in the city centre near Carlisle Cathedral this shop is a firm favourite amongst locals. 

Our readers have praised their locally produced goods, with one name their salted caramel as a sweet not to be missed. 

 

Hotel Chocolat, Carlisle 

Readers were delighted to see the wide selection of chocolates that the store has on offer. 

They also praised the "friendly and helpful staff" along with the on-site cafe. 

 

Friars, Keswick 

If you fancy a trip to Keswick while you still can, this traditional shop has everything you need when it comes to tasty handmade treats.

Christine Peart said: “Love this shop, especially just before Christmas. Chocolate peppermint creams are fab.”

Russell Holden added: “This place is a Lake District institution, it’s been around for decades selling good quality products.”

 

Kennedy's Chocolate Shop- Orton

Kennedys Fine Chocolates Coffee House and factory shop are located in the village of Orton in Cumbria, on the edge of the Lake District and now part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

The chocolate factory shop also has much more than just chocolates – with jams, chutneys, speciality biscuits, and confectionery.

 

Shill's of Cockermouth 

This venue not only sells chocolates but is also a popular eatery that sells a range of wines and fine dining cuisine. 

Shill's has built up quite a reputation for good chocolate and other products in the 11 years it has been open.
