Carlisle's Lego and toy shop is bidding farewell to its physical store, but fear not, Lego enthusiasts, for the end of an era does not mean the end of the building adventure.

Brick Lane Toys, on St Cuthbert's Lane, which opened in 2021 will be closing up later this year but will continue to operate online and make appearances at Lego shows and pop-ups throughout the UK.

Liam Tanner, who deals with marketing at events at Brick Lane Toys, said: "We've got a warehouse based in Carlisle, that was one of the reasons behind closing the shop was because we were paying for two properties in Carlisle essentially.

"The warehouse is based just outside the city centre, we'll be operating online wise from there so if any locals want to pick to stuff up, all they have to do is drop us a message," he said.

Along with the business owner, Leigh Middleton, Liam thanked all their customers for their continued support.

"A big thank-you to all our customers for supporting us over the years and in the community of Carlisle.

"Although we're closing the shop, it's not the end of the journey. We're still going to be a big part of the community," he said.

On Saturday (July 8), customers who spend over £15 will receive a free gift, making it the perfect opportunity to grab some bricks and build lasting memories.

The next Carlisle-based Lego show will be November 4, The Brick Festival, with the business set to make an appearance.

Whilst the final trading day at the Carlisle Lego shop is set for Saturday, September 9, all products will still be able to be purchased from their virtual presence - www.bricklanetoys.co.uk
