POLICE have arrested a man for ‘dangerously’ using a jet ski on Ullswater, and made further discoveries about his past involvement with the legal system.
Eden police officers said that last week, some visitors to the Lake District decided to ‘spoil things’ for open water swimmers and paddleboarders by using a jet ski dangerously on Ullswater.
A spokesperson from the force said: “After being verbally abusive to someone trying to warn of the danger, officers located them and began dealing with them for a public order offence.
“Some quick checks identified that one of the pair was wanted by the courts in Scotland for failing to attend a court hearing and His Majesty's Prison Service was also expecting him to return to them in relation to another matter.
“It got worse when we identified that he was also a suspect in a recent high-value burglary.
“Male arrested, vehicle seized.
“Over the rest of summer, we will be conducting joint patrols with Lake District National Park Wardens to reduce and challenge anti-social behaviour within the national park.”
