Cumbria police have been focussing more on anti-social behaviour in the county recently, which has seen public awareness campaigns, more arrests, and on-foot patrols in towns and villages to address local concerns.
Yesterday, officers on the Allerdale team caught two teenagers causing graffiti at Maryport railway station.
They were made to scrub it clean before being taken home to explain to their parents why the police were on their doorstep.
This sort of action is seen elsewhere in the county, with Cumbria police’s Eden team identifying an anti-social behaviour hotspot on Penrith’s Ullswater Road a day prior, subsequently issuing several dispersal orders to young offenders.
The police force’s social media campaign forms part of Anti-Social Behaviour Week, a national week of awareness of and action on anti-social behaviour.
