A walker who was stuck on steep ground was found and saved by mountain rescuers during a nearly six-hour callout.
Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team received a call from Cumbria Constabulary at 1:50pm on July 3 about a lone walker stuck somewhere around Lord’s Rake.
A spokesperson from the team explained: “A limited group of team members and drone pilots were called out to assist.
“With mobile reception very patchy in that area the Phonefind was less accurate than normal so the exact location was not known.
“When in the area team members split into smaller groups and located the walker in Red Gill (Scafell), fortunately not in too serious a predicament.
“He was then carefully assisted back down to safe ground and all members descended back to Brackenclose.”
The callout lasted five hours and 44 minutes and involved nine mountain rescuers.
