A walker fell while walking up Scafell Pike and lost consciousness after sustaining a head injury.
This was according to a call from Cumbria police received by Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team (WMRT) on July 9 at 12:37pm.
The walker fell while standing close to the summit, so due to the location and nature of the injury, a helicopter was sent to care for her.
A spokesperson from WMRT said: “They arrived quickly and assessed the walker.
“Fortunately, she had sustained only minor injuries and was declared fit enough to carry on with her planned descent to Wasdale valley.
“The team was then stood down and returned to base, having not ascended too far from Brackenclose.
“We wish the walker well, and thanks to the Helimed 08 crew for their quick response.”
The callout lasted two hours and 14 minutes and required 17 WMRT members, as well as the helicopter.
