A MULTI-AGENCY search was undertaken after a concerned caller raised the attention of two teenagers 'scrambling' around the cliffs at St Bees beach.
With strong winds, heavy sea conditions, and high tide approaching, the Whitehaven & Maryport Coastguard Rescue Teams were swiftly dispatched to investigate the situation on July 14.
Coastguard Rescue Officers took on the task of conducting a shoreline search along the rocks at the base of the cliffs, whilst members of the Rope Rescue team scoured the cliff top paths.
The assistance of St Bees RNLI was also called upon.
The Caernarfon-based Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 936 joined the mission, using their advanced Forward Looking Infra-Red HD camera system to search for the teens.

Despite the extensive land, air, and sea search, no signs of the missing teenagers were found, and no reports of anyone missing were received.
As a result, all assets were stood down in the early hours of the morning as no new information was received.
