LANCERCOST CofE Primary School has teamed up with local artist Abby Kilfedder to create artwork for a local train station.
The project is part of the school's Station Adoption of Brampton train station with the Northern Railway.
As part of the project, year five and six pupils from the school have worked with Abby to create a bright journey from Newcastle to Carlisle with murals that feature a number of landmarks and landscapes that are found between the two cities.
The children worked on this project over the summer term to design, paint and then detail the paintings, with Lanercost CofE Primary School head teacher Lexi Wilkinson hoping that the artwork will not only help her students improve their arts and design skills but also brighten up the station.
She said: "Our hopes are that, even if the passengers aren't getting off the train, they will be able to see out of the window the wonderful landmarks along the route.
"The children have worked with Abby to create a bright journey from Newcastle to Carlisle.
"Adopting the station is incredibly important to help with sustainability and ensuring that people use the train for transport rather than cars.
"By teaching our children about the trains, their history, and how they help towards saving the planet, we are able to teach the next generation about this amazing resource.
"The school is hoping to continue their projects on the station, so watch this space."
Abby Kilfedder added: "Three huge panels, many pots of very bright paint, and lots of enthusiastic children made for a fabulous day.
"I'm looking forward to seeing them finished."
The student's artwork is yet to be erected at Brampton Train Station, however, Lexi hopes that this will take place in the near future.
