MEET Rocco - a rescue dog who has been lovingly cared for in a foster home with Dogs Trust Cumbria since April and is now looking for his forever family who can give him a fresh start.
Six-year-old crossbreed Rocco has been enjoying recent stability with his Dogs Trust foster carers after past upheavals in his life led to him being handed into the care of Dogs Trust Cumbria.
Now the time is right for Rocco to meet his new family and start his next adventure in his forever home.
Annabel Robinson, assistant manager administration at Dogs Trust Cumbria said “Rocco is a fantastic little chap with many cheeky terrier characteristics.
"Anyone with experience of the terrier breed will soon fall for his charms.
"His foster carers have been patient and kind, allowing Rocco’s character to shine so we know what he likes and doesn’t like.
“Rocco enjoys snuggles and is an affectionate boy when he decides he wants a fuss.
"He will happily amuse himself with his toys although he doesn’t like his toys to be taken away and he isn’t keen on being disturbed when he is in his bed, so having a home where he has his own space is important to Rocco.
“Rocco enjoys walks and has been on numerous day trips with his foster family including to several dog friendly cafes where he is a well-behaved boy. Rocco also likes pottering in the garden.
"He is brilliant on lead, and he does listen when told not to be so vocal with passing dogs.
“We don’t know his complete history, but we do know he has been passed about in recent times due to circumstances not related to Rocco, so his next home has to be his final, forever home where he can settle and flourish.”
Rocco is looking for a quiet adult only home with no visiting dogs. If you can provide Rocco with the stability and love he so deserves, please complete an application form on our website www.dogstrust.org.uk/rehoming.
With no traditional rehoming centre in Cumbria, Dogs Trust launched its unique approach to finding dogs new homes in the area in January 2022, rehoming dogs direct from foster homes in the county. To find out more about fostering please email HFH.Penrith@dogstrust.org.uk
