A MAN who had cocaine in his possession refused to provide a specimen for analysis when requested by police.
Timothy Walsh, 29, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen for analysis, possessing a Class A drug and resisting police in execution of duty when he appeared before magistrates in Workington.
Walsh had cocaine in his possession and resisted police in Moor Row on July 7. He then refused to provide a specimen of breath in Workington when suspected of having driven a vehicle on the same date.
Walsh, of Ellis Meadows, Cleator Moor, was banned from driving for 18 months. He was given a 12-month community order with 140 hours of unpaid work.
He was fined £553 and must pay £85 costs and a £114 victim surcharge.
An order was made for the forfeiture and destruction of the cocaine.
